On 17 February 2023, the China Securities Regulatory Commission released the “Trial Administrative Measures of Overseas Securities Offering and Listing by Domestic Companies” and relevant regulatory guidelines (collectively referred to as the “New Listing Regulations”), which came into effect on 31 March 2023. To efficiently familiarise our colleagues with the New Listing Regulations and promote lively discussion and exchange between colleagues from both Mainland China and Hong Kong, our firm, in collaboration with the Li & Partners (Shenzhen), organised a seminar on ‘Interpretation of the New Listing Regulations for Overseas Securities Offering and Listing by PRC Companies and their Impact on Hong Kong-listed PRC Companies’. The seminar provided a detailed explanation in relation to the similarities and differences in regulatory practices in Mainland China before and after the implementation of the New Listing Regulations, as well as an in-depth discussion of the impact of the New Listing Regulations on PRC companies currently listing in Hong Kong and the compliance of Hong Kong-listed PRC Companies.
Given the increasing economic and social interactions between Mainland China and Hong Kong, there will be growing demand for cross-border legal services. The seminar was highly received for its in-depth discussions and research on the current regulations in relation to listing matters in both Mainland China and Hong Kong, and the encouragement of cultural and intellectual exchanges among colleagues from both sides.
